Ethiopia's trophy history

Ethiopia's only Africa Cup of Nations title came as hosts in 1962, when they beat Egypt, then competing as the United Arab Republic, 4-2 after extra time in Addis Ababa. Ethiopia were one of the founding participants in the Africa Cup of Nations in 1957, giving the country an important place in the competition's early history. Their 2013 appearance ended a 31-year absence from AFCON, and Ethiopia have never qualified for a men's World Cup.
