Ghana's trophy history

Ghana's Black Stars won four Africa Cup of Nations titles between 1963 and 1982, but have since lost finals in 1992, 2010 and 2015. Their most recent title came through a penalty shootout win over hosts Libya in 1982. Ghana's most painful modern moment arrived in the 2010 World Cup quarterfinal against Uruguay: Luis Suarez stopped a goal-bound shot with his hand, Asamoah Gyan missed the resulting penalty and Ghana lost the shootout. Morocco became the first African World Cup semifinalist 12 years later, in 2022.
