Palestine's tournament profile
Football as identity and connection
Palestine did win the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup, defeating the Philippines 1-0 in the final and earning a place at the 2015 Asian Cup. That honour is separate from the Asian Cup and World Cup titles counted by this site’s major-title counter; zero tracked titles does not mean no senior trophy of any kind.
Palestine's national team draws players from a wide diaspora and carries meaning beyond the pitch. Qualification campaigns have required resilience, travel and constant rebuilding.
The January 2024 knockout appearance proved that the Lions of Canaan can compete at Asian level. The next goal is making that success repeatable.
