A point is progress.Make the next pass count.

Kosovo answered the away defeat in Austria with two draws and a more competitive return meeting. Five points keep the group open. November brings a home match with Israel, then a Dublin finish against the Republic of Ireland — with promotion, a play-off and third place still different outcomes.

Where Kosovo stand now

The current situation

The useful contrast is between the two Austria games. Kosovo lost 3–1 away in September, then drew 1–1 at home on 4 October. The return did not erase the defeat, but it left a different problem to solve: how to turn a competitive performance into the extra chance that wins the next close game.

The four-match league window produced five points, three goals and two clean sheets. Austria lead with eight points; Kosovo and the Republic of Ireland have five each. Kosovo’s opening 1–0 win over Ireland gives them the current head-to-head advantage. That is a provisional position with another meeting still to play, not a secured second-place finish.

The attacking question is not simply whether a cross can reach Vedat Muriqi. Can another player receive the return ball, and can a third arrive after the defence has turned? A direct option becomes more valuable when the team has a second action. That connection can make room for Zhegrova’s change of pace or Asllani’s movement without leaving the midfield behind.

Kosovo 1–1 Austria

The 4 October home draw followed a 0–0 away draw with Israel and the earlier 3–1 defeat in Austria.

Israel at home

Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri, 15:00 CET in Pristina — the same instant as 14:00 UTC.

Republic of Ireland away

Aviva Stadium, Dublin. FAI confirms 19:45 local/GMT, equivalent to 20:45 CET in Kosovo.

Our readingA forward reference is useful when the next receiver is close enough to join the play. If Muriqi contests the first ball, the supporting player needs an angle for the lay-off rather than standing on the same line. Keep the far-side option available and protect the space behind the move. The diagram below illustrates those relationships; it is not an announced November starting side.

UEFA and ÖFB establish the completed group scores. UEFA’s match page identifies the home stadium and its fixture list gives 15:00 CET; FAI confirms the Dublin game at 19:45 local time. The roster records past participation, not a confirmed November squad. Tactical judgments are TrophyDrought editorial analysis, not statements from the coaching staff.

Five points. Two November games. An open finish.

Kosovo's 2026 checkpoint

5 POINTS

One win, two draws and one defeat in four Nations League matches. The comparison is the completed league window, not every international of 2026.

2 CLEAN SHEETS

Ireland at home and Israel away were shutouts. The two Austria games account for all four goals conceded in this sample.

2 FIXTURES

Israel in Pristina, then Ireland in Dublin. The final order remains open; no promotion or play-off place is already secured.

The checkpoints describe completed events. The result chart calculates from the published scores, not an editorial performance rating.

Kosovo’s 2025 promotion brought them into League B; it was not a major continental title. Under UEFA’s announced format, a B group winner moves to A, the runner-up enters an A/B play-off, third stays in B and fourth enters a B/C play-off. The current campaign also does not undo the March World Cup play-off final defeat by Türkiye: Kosovo are still waiting for a first World Cup or EURO finals appearance.

Kosovo and Ireland both have five points. Kosovo won their first meeting 1–0; UEFA applies head-to-head criteria before overall goal difference. The return in Dublin remains to be played, so the current order is provisional. First place remains mathematically possible, but depends on the other results as well as Kosovo’s own.

Under UEFA’s announced format, a League B winner is promoted to A and a runner-up enters an A/B play-off. Third stays in B; fourth enters a B/C play-off rather than automatic relegation. None of those outcomes has been secured, and league placement is not the same as EURO qualification.

Pristina first. Then a Dublin finish.

UEFA lists the home game at 15:00 CET, and its match information names Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri. FAI’s specific ticket notice confirms the Dublin venue and 19:45 local kickoff. The two countries use different November clocks, so 19:45 in Dublin is 20:45 in Kosovo.

Three questions that define the autumn

Editorial watchlist

Who takes the second ball when Muriqi receives?

The first contact is only part of the attack. A supporting midfielder can offer a short return pass while another attacker moves across the defensive line. That gives the forward a choice beyond holding the ball against two defenders. The idea is a useful attacking relationship, not a claim about every possession in the completed matches.

Can the team change the angle before the final delivery?

Zhegrova’s receiving lane becomes more useful when a defender must also watch an inside runner. A return pass, switch or delayed run can change the angle of the next challenge. Simply adding another player beside the ball can leave the same blocked route with fewer players protecting the recovery.

What does a stronger finish look like without the ball?

Two clean sheets show that a close game need not become an open exchange. Keep one player ready for the clearance and another behind the first challenge. The next counter-press should shorten the recovery distance rather than invite a race back toward an exposed defence.

A forward pass needs a second action

Avdullahu supplies the inside connection, Asllani represents a different running lane and Muriqi stays higher. All six diagram names appear in the completed competition roster. They illustrate passing relationships, not a predicted November eleven.

Find the forward, then make the next pass easier.

This diagram explains relationships, not a confirmed formation. Player availability, squad selection and roles can change before the match window.

Players who shape the next step

Roles, not a predicted XI
Give the forward a nearby option

Vedat Muriqi

UEFA records his involvement in the completed league window. The portrait is inspired by his attacking role; it does not confirm November selection, fitness, captaincy or a starting place.

Make the defender turn before the next action

Edon Zhegrova

The competition roster records his contribution to the three-goal sample. His role here is the wide receiving option, not an invented performance rating or a guarantee that he will start the next match.

Add a second route into the area

Fisnik Asllani

UEFA lists him among the scorers and participants in this campaign. His movement offers another tactical reference alongside the central target; the next selection remains a separate announcement.

The next call-up is a separate announcement.

Squad and availability watch

Use the completed roster as dated evidence

UEFA lists Franco Foda as coach and records Muriqi, Zhegrova, Asllani, Avdullahu, Dellova and Saipi among the campaign participants. A final November squad is not established in the checked sources. A competition directory is not an announced starting eleven.

Muriqi and Muric are different players

Vedat Muriqi is the forward illustrated in the hero. Arijanet Muric is a goalkeeper; Amir Saipi is another goalkeeper in the roster. Reports about one player must not be transferred to another because their names look similar. Past participation is not a present-day fitness or captaincy guarantee.

Keep selection, fitness and discipline separate

Do not extend an earlier injury report, substitution or booking into an unverified November absence. The tactical names describe passing relationships from the completed competition pool, not a medical all-clear, a new ban, a club transfer or an official November lineup.

Kosovo Now FAQs

Quick answers
When is Kosovo’s next match?

Kosovo host Israel on 14 November 2026 at Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri in Pristina. Kickoff is 15:00 CET local time, equivalent to 14:00 UTC.

When do Kosovo play the Republic of Ireland?

On 17 November 2026 at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. FAI confirms 19:45 local/GMT, which is 19:45 UTC and 20:45 CET in Kosovo.

Why do the Dublin and Kosovo kickoff clocks differ?

Dublin uses GMT, UTC+0, in November. Kosovo uses CET, UTC+1. The listed 19:45 Dublin kickoff and 20:45 Kosovo kickoff refer to the same instant.

What was Kosovo’s latest result?

A 1–1 home draw with Austria on 4 October 2026. The previous league result was a 0–0 away draw with Israel.

How many Nations League points do Kosovo have?

Five from four matches: one win, two draws and one defeat. They scored three goals, conceded four and kept two clean sheets in that sample.

Why are Kosovo above Ireland with a worse goal difference?

Both have five points, but the current head-to-head comparison favours Kosovo after their 1–0 home win. UEFA applies head-to-head criteria before overall goal difference. The return meeting is still to be played.

Can Kosovo still win Group B3?

Yes. They can reach eleven points and first place remains mathematically possible, depending on both their own results and the other remaining games. It is not already secured.

What would first or second place mean?

Under UEFA’s announced format, the League B group winner is promoted to A. The runner-up enters an A/B play-off; finishing second would not itself confirm promotion or a EURO finals place.

Would third or fourth mean automatic relegation?

Third stays in League B. Fourth enters a B/C promotion-relegation play-off under the announced structure, rather than being automatically relegated.

Who is Kosovo’s manager?

Franco Foda is listed as head coach in UEFA’s current competition roster.

Has Kosovo announced the final November squad?

A final November squad is not established in the sources checked for this page. UEFA’s competition roster records the completed campaign and is not a new call-up or starting eleven.

Are Muriqi, Zhegrova and Asllani confirmed for November?

Their participation in the completed league window is recorded, but that does not guarantee November selection, fitness, eligibility or a starting place. A fresh selection or medical announcement is needed for those claims.

Are the tactical names an official Kosovo formation?

No. The six named players appear in the completed competition roster. The diagram is editorial analysis of possible relationships, not Foda’s announced November lineup or tracked match data.

How many European Championships have Kosovo won?

None. Kosovo’s senior men have not reached a EURO finals tournament. Nations League promotion in 2025 was not a European Championship title.

Did Kosovo qualify for the 2026 World Cup?

No. They won 4–3 away to Slovakia in the play-off semi-final, then lost 1–0 at home to Türkiye on 31 March 2026. They are still waiting for a first World Cup or EURO finals appearance.
